Joshua Silver: CIO of the Year!
Did you know that Patientco is home to the 2014 CIO (Chief Information Office) of the Year? That’s right, our very own Joshua Silver was deemed worthy enough to be recognized as someone who has “demonstrated excellence in technology leadership.” We’d have to agree, although Joshua’s “demonstrated excellence” doesn’t apply to all aspects of his life **cough**basketball**cough**. But in all seriousness, this is a pretty big deal.
The CIO of the Year award has been around for over 15 years. There are five categories: Global, Enterprise, Corporate, Emerging, and Non-Profit/Public Sector. (Obviously, we’re in the “Emerging” category…a Fortune 500 company we are not.) Award nominees are evaluated on innovation, leadership, business value creation, and community involvement.
Joshua has done a lot, both at Patientco as well as earlier in his career. Prior to co-founding Patientco, Joshua served as a core member of the newly-created International Product Development team at CareerBuilder. Splitting his time between Atlanta, Chicago, and London, he worked on launching over six new international sites and spearheaded technical integrations with key European online advertising partners such as Virgin Media, AOL, and Lycos. At Patientco, Joshua is responsible not only for building the company from scratch, but also for Patientco’s overall technology strategy and product direction. We literally and figuratively wouldn’t be Patientco without him!
So, since this is such a big deal, we decided to do a little office decorating to surprise Joshua when he returned from the awards ceremony…
And he was quite surprised!
