Get your skills on! Alexa Skill Competition

Patientco is announcing an Alexa skill competition for University Students!
Think of a useful, amazing, or cool idea and build an skill to showcase YOUR skills.
Impressive, hilarious, and Rube-Goldberian entries are all welcome.
Winners will receive a $250 gift certificate to Amazon.
Alexa skills are simple to write and can interact with virtually any REST interface and text, so think about open APIs and information you can harness from the Internet.
In case your idea box is empty, here are a few to get you going:
  • Can you make Alexa interact with people in hilarious ways?
  • Can you apply to Patientco via voice command?
  • Can you play a game via an Alexa that you would normally not play with voice control?
  • Can you control a toy, camera, or other device?
  • Can you register for classes with an Alexa?
Send in a video of you interacting with your skill by Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at midnight and then come to the Tech Talk to see what you and your fellow students have built!
All skills will be showcased at our Building for Alexa Tech Talk on Thursday, October 12 at 7:30pm .
Enjoy pizza while hearing from our impressive Director of Architecture, Chris Church and guest-starring one of your peers, Georgia Tech student, Sarah Dang. This summer, we had the honor of having Sarah co-op with us. She built a brand new piece of technology that has given patients the ability to pay their medical bill through Alexa. Sarah will be talking about this project and her experience at Patientco. Then, we show off what Georgia Tech students have built.
